How Safe Is Safe Enough?
A million people die every year in car crashes it's a public health disaster and yet fear of driving isn't. Elon Musk for example would say oh well as long as you can improve on average levels of safety with self-driving cars then we should just accept the technology go for it do it as quickly as possible but i'm thinking if you reduce that million deaths a year to half a million, is that going to be enough to persuade mother of child killed by robot? It matters whether or not they are seen as in control of those risks It matters who is who is to blame is it a faceless corporation or is it an individual what are rights of redress in the courts right
