The Story of Ibn Batuta's Journey to China

In Calicut, Ibn Batuta prepared for the next leg of his journey to China. He could see huge ocean-going vessels, far bigger than the Arab ships. The biggest of these junks had up to five desks, and a crew of 500 men. But they were not the best vessels if they got too close to shore. And so when the storms hit, IbnBatuta's three ships put out to sea.
