Isabelle Hilton: High-speed rail is a good way of getting around in China. She says the major culprit remains the primary energy mix, which is overwhelmingly still overwhelmingly coal. "China has coal in some abundance and it needs to import almost every other form of energy," she says. Despite its wealth, there are still millions of people who are waiting to be pulled out of poverty.
