Study was motivated by simple question, do our beliefs about what we're eating change our bodies physiological response to that? We brought people into our lab under the impression that they would be drinking milk shakes that were designed to meet different metabolic needs in the hospital. But at one time point they thought it was this very indulgent, high fat, high calory shake and at another time point theythought it was a low fat, low calory, sort of sensible diet shake. So here they are drinking the exact same milk shake, but under two very different mind sets. Are sort of impressions of what that shake was.
