Star Trek Almost Never Existed

Star Trek almost never existed. NBC tried to cancel Star Trek three times over its original 78 episode run from September of 66 to June of 1969. Each time it would have been canceled had the fans not rose up and live it outrage. The highest it got in the Nielsen ratings was the number 50 spot. It was way behind other popular shows of the day, like Mr. Terrific and Tammy Grimes show.
