The Importance of Prioritizing

Once I get the drawing committed to the page and start painting, the painting takes on a life of its own. And again, just like when I drew on location, I'm attempting to capture detail and authenticity. Photography is very difficult as a source material because the camera sees everything with equal intensity. There's no prioritizing that goes on every square inch of the composition.
