Open source is a way of making publicly available information more accessible to the general public. It's not just intelligence officers or military officials who have access to phenomenally important information for national security, Kristen says. The private sector academia as well and the nonprofit world in this big community related open source. For me it was something to add color to really hard hitting intelligence that was collected by human asset via signals intelligence or perhaps imagery.
