The Importance of Positioning and Intubation in Trauma Patients
In a suspected cervical spine injury patient, then protecting the neck and maintaining inline stabilisations is obviously really important. And so to achieve this, don't just stick a pillow under the patient's head and feel like you've ticked it off. I want you to really work on achieving that anatomical alignment because it makes such a difference. The last little thing to think about with positioning is that the plane of the face needs to be in parallel to the ceiling. If we hyper extend the head, then you can end up obscuring your view much more than you would like. So yes, imagine you've got that really full pint of drink, and then you need to take a sip from it
