The Best Job I Ever Had
As a head staff at a group home for kids with mental and physical disabilities, Peggy Drexler faced many challenges. One young man had chronic lung disease that left him without use of about 70% of his lung capacity. Doctors predicted he'd only live until his mid-teens. He would aspirate easily so all of his food was pureed, his liquids thickened. The order was sent to stop feeding and providing water; the kid was being let go.
