Using Chores as Consequences for Misbehavior

Ginger: I don't know of any kids who are excited about doing chores, whether they're consequence related or not. She says the purpose for regular chores is to cultivate a responsible ongoing work ethic and to teach children the importance of being helping members of the family. Ginger: Since most kids already don't like chores, why not utilize them as consequences in order to get in some extra cleaning or extra yard work? The goal is for us and our children to do them without grumbling and complaining so that you may become blameless and pure children of GodWithout fault in a war and crooked generation.
