USAIR was trying to expand their network and by acquiring Pacific Southwest Airlines, they really give them a big foothold on the West Coast. The cockpit voice recorder recorded one of them asking air traffic control about reports of turbulence. After the first few shots, a crew member can be heard on a cockpit voice recorder stating, my God, that's a gun.
