Ptolemy the fourth built a mausoleum to house his own burial and that of alexander. He can't have buried alexander immediately. It must have been somewhere else. So either his body was at rest, for example, at sicara, for a much longer time than we think. Or it was in memphis temporarily, until a burial was ready in alexandria,. And then when ptole my the fourth built the mausolem, it was moved again.
