Is There Something Inherently Isolating About Adolescents?
I was lucky enough to not have abusive or neglectful parents. But another thing that I think often does intersect with class that children never get to see is parents who are not healthy figures and their kids lives. And so often the poor kid in a show is just like the smelly kid, you know, the kid who wears the same like dirty overalls all the time. They're there as like a joke about trailer park culture but there's no real analysis of this child's living reality on the day by day.
