The Algorithm of Objective Choice
Philosophically interesting decision procedures must function. Scientists who share the concerns and sensibilities of the individual who discovers a new theory are ipso facto likely to appear nately frequently among that theory's first supporters. That is why it has been difficult to construct algaritms for theory choice. Choices that present problems are the ones philosophers of science need to understand.
