The Magnetic Properties of Food

Some materials are just magnets. They're internal charges just line up and stay lined up so they have a stable magnetic field. But what's happened in your fridge magnet can be made to happen temporarily in many many other materials. Just about every material if you put it in a magnetic field will temporarily make its own magnetic field that will act against the one you've just plunged it into. Let's go back to Michael Faraday's lab again. The other big experiment that he was doing was using a very large electromagnet to test for magnetic properties in objects and anything and everything.
