Finance officers have warned that household rates could rise by 13% next year. What this could mean for the average household is $1,000 rise over two years. Next year there will be proposals for further cuts tightening of the bill to gain when the Council comes to draw up a new 10-year budget. It's going to be equally difficult, but I don't think we're going to end up with such a big rates increase than what you'd say was worst case scenario.
