Genome-Wide Association Studies in Gout
The development of Gout is multifactorial involving complex interactions of genetics with diet, lifestyle exposures and medication use. Previous genome-wide association studies in Gout have been published over the past 10 years or so. But when you get a lot of individual genes that associate with Gout or whatever disease you're looking at, it can be very informative. It tells you about the mechanism of disease and can identify new drug targets.
