The Search for Mary Sarai in Seattle
D.C. archives have death certificates dating as far back as the 1870s, and they're open to the public. But we found almost nothing. So he might have just been sloppy with the recording. We found likely matches. There were death certificates that generally lined up with the day the Smithsonian officially took possession of the brain.
