The Cockettes Are Back and It's All About Themselves
The cockettes were formed around 1969 in san francisco and so you get that kind of there was this beautiful moment of radical gay uh it was really the gay liberation movement coming off of stonewall where it's just radical gay um artists and activists. The movie is very punk very punk but absolutely pre-punk in a completely different part of the world it's amazing to see how they blended with hippie, drag culture and underground trash countercultural gayness.
