Academic paper shows that, you know, maybe it does make sense from a mathematical point of view. But i think what it doesn't take into account is the conversations round the kitchen table where you say yes, we've just lost 97 % of our life savings at this point. I mean, who'd be comfortable doing that? You can't go to your partner. Even though theoretically it works, in practice, i just don't think we're geared up psychologically for that kind of risk.
