Krishnadeva's Army Defeated the City of Bijapur

Krishnadeva marched into bijapur without a fight and decided to stay there for as long as it took for the sultan to turn himself over. The soldiers demolished its beautiful buildings and burned them as firewood, and drank so much water that its reservoirs ran dry. As ferna nuniz recalls, the city was left almost in ruins. Not that the king had commanded it to be destroy but that his troops, in order to make fires for cooking, had torn down so many houses.
