Genetic Integrity - A Case Study
In the pacific northwest, two young wolves came across a sheep herding dog. Local wild life officials were made really nervous by this because they didn't want this dog impregnating either of these wolves. They feared hybrids would be an endangered species and wouldn't be a fair old dog or something in between. In that case, that notion of wildness as autonomy was completely violated. It's an increasingly maladaptive goal for conservationists to restore virgin wilderness. And it also makes us obsessed with returning eco systems to some sort of zero year state.
