What Is Pain in the Hand?

Pain is almost synonymous with the behavior reaction to it, in some cases at least. And there are actually two different processes that go on here. The first one is you get a very fast response that travels on what she calls fast pain fibres. It's usually something that prompts you to immediately withdraw your hand from the source of the injury. But if, you if you, say, touch a hot stove or something, your hand is withdrawn before you have even thought about it - which is interesting. I mean, i can't really think of much other sensory information that works that way.
