The Slow Burner of Success

It was within a couple of years. It's nothing that you could ever plan. You know, let's face it, the luck I had was being born English-speaking white female in England. That is a privilege that you have to have in your head. But everything else was a graft. My parents would say middle class. I would say working class. To my mind, if you have to work for a living, you're working class. So, in terms of switching off, I haven't created a life for myself that I want to switch off from.
