Rousseau's Social Contract

Rousseau wrote the social contract in 1762, modern hundred years after Hobbes. His fundamental goal is to try and address the question of how is it possible for human beings to subject themselves to the future of the world. He essentially revolutionizes the concept of sovereignty in the following way. For Rousseau, sovereignty can only take one form and it must be democratic sovereignty.
