Dante's Divine Comedy

Between now and mid-July the west building of the national gallery of art is having a very small exhibit called appropriately enough if you live in DC everyone nods going through hell the divine Dante. What they did here is sort of shop their closet as a fashionista would say they chose 20 20 pieces of art that were inspired by Dante's poem of 700 years ago for those of you who don't know uh divine comedy. I was fascinated by this this poem as a child because having been raised Christian fundamentalist we didn't have anything like purgatory so the idea that there was this weird middle space where people were trapped intrigued me.
