The Ten Commandments and the Priests and the Tabernacle

In the book of Numbers, what we're going to see is that there's this inner sanctum, the holy of holies. And then outside that, you have the whole tribe of the Levites encamped around the tabernacle. Anything in God's direct presence has to be holy; anything in his extended presence must be clean. This helps us because if God's holiness comes into contact with anything that is unclean, death results. If you're unclean, you have to go outside the camp because you're in danger and could die.
