A new biography of Joseph Smith explains the extent of polygamy and how it was being practiced. The church had done a really good job of tailoring this story to make it a coherent, beautiful story that struck you as something of divine origin. But just like with every other thing that's not of God, it's mixed in with so much different error and personality and faults and sin.
