Tracking the Development of Central Bank Digital Currencies

This chapter examines the Human Rights Foundation's efforts to monitor the progress of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) globally. It raises concerns about the prevalence of CBDCs in countries with weak rule of law and authoritarian governments, while highlighting specific nations where CBDCs are being launched or piloted.
