What Is the Analogy of Lenses?

Culture is about meaning. It's certain things mean things to us deeply. The second lens is the power dimension, which means that certain people's perspectives are pushed closer to the center. And so we move from power to the ethical dimension in which we try to build communities of flourishing. Religious dimension is oriented towards coping with the anxieties of life and the certainty of our death. So it's a seeking of transcendence, either in traditional expressions of religion or even something like rooting for the Minnesota Vikings.
