What Kinds of Distortions Might Affect My Data?

When you measure something like opinions and this kind of abstract constructs, there is one information in the theory which says that they are ordinal scales. In physical measurements, when we have a unit of measurement, actually, if we convert one unit into the other, we have some linear transformation. But when we have this kind of measurements of opinions, for example, if we develop our scale independently, it's going to be a non-linear transformation. If we plot my scale versus your scale, we won't see a nice line, but we will see something which goes ups and downs in a very weird fashion. And so, yeah, they some way represent how we have these distortions of transformation
