He says West Coast drowsians have always, as he mentioned, going back to Jaffa and his work for Barry Goldwater; they're very involved in right-wing politics. Welch: The Claremont School of Thought kind of hit a new level when Obama was elected. And their arguments about the progressive administrative state really ramped up. But you can see that kind of twin, the twin obsessions of the administrative state and racial identity politics, both in the reaction to Obama and in the support of Trump.
