Sarah Kohn grew up in a rural area outside Portland and then her family moved to Hawaii for five years when she was growing up. "I feel like my path to what we're doing right now relates to the fact that I tried to have a bunch of different careers, and either I couldn't or I hated them," says Kohn. She had a hard time making friends at mining school and was just excluded and bullied.
