The Jewish Left and Markahana

Arthur wascow is one of the key contributors to jewish social justice as we know it. And you place him alongside this person, merikahana, who represents, in so many ways, what we would see as the opposite. Each of them are trying to take judaism out of the morbun synagogue, out of suburbia and say, no, jews have to be proud as jews, and they have to fight as jews in the streets. In a certain sense, that's the transition for wascow, from jewish radical to radical Jew.
