In his Purusha Mishnah, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach outlines 13 principles that every religious Jew must believe in order to gain personal salvation. The idea of a unit of 13 principles is curious because the Ramam never comes back to this in his important works. He also mentions other things, but as a unit, he doesn't have them. And even in terms of when I'm a new convert, someone converting, today they might require knowledge of the 13 principles, but theRamam never says that.
