The Value of Tenure

I was at a small liberal arts school. I had the dean not come in and tell me I had to pass a student, but actually after the fact that I award the student in F, he changed the grade. And you see here what I've come to realize is the great value of tenure. It has nothing to do with academic freedom. But most often tenure is used to take years of your career off. Right. Well, by the time you get through the tenure process, you're just beaten, say whatever.
