If everybody in dely would, hypotheticaly, say, hav ere conditioning, then the amount of cooling will actually be equal to the combined cooling that we experience in new york city. City says there are lots of ways to cool buildings without air conditioners. We've talked about shady trees. You can also design homes to catch prevailing cross breezes or put in better windows.
