This vaccine uses a modified adenovirus, and this virus has been modified so it can't cause disease. The aim is to make these tumor cells more visible to the immune system that can then go in and attack. Australia's Office of the Gene Technology Regulator issued a license to the team behind the work to test the vaccine against this one type of cancer.
