The Importance of Religion in the West
Hobbs quotes the bible 600 and forty nine times in the leviathan more than weigh more than any other text. Spinoza, of course, is in constant dialogue with the bible. That's what his treatise is all about. To avoid dialogue with religion would mean to ignore huge sloths of western culture. But that doesn't mean endorsing ar beliefsthat's where i where i differ.
