How Did I Get Into Economics?
In 1970, Hungary was cut off from the rest of the world so there were no grants for research. So I got a grant from a private institution and I ended up at Oxford. Other people like Paul Martin Aseniel, you may may know, a monetary historian, he ended up Toronto. We learned the trade and at that time we were influenced by the electric work. It was applying basic economic analysis to revise perceptions by historians in which there was not explicit model.
