The Origin of Coffee in the Middle East
There aren't written records of this kind of traditional plant use. What we surmise is that in ethiopia, in the forest, slar people were foraging coffee and foraging it as a plant for various purposes. Coffee leaves got made into a tea called cooti. The seeds were also roasted with butter and salt to make an energy snacpe tipe thing. Its a nice herbal tasting sort of tea. It was commonly used by hunters and by warriors for that purpose.
