Is There a Progression Bias in Relationships?

From an evolutionary perspective aren't we almost hardwired to try to stay coupled even when it's not optimal? It's a really good question yeah so this is some work that I've done with my former PhD student and she's now a professor at Western University Samantha Joel. We do think that the human heart kind of you know gets itself stuck in relationships sometimes but we also think there's a lot of social pressure to get into and to stay in relationships which might have been evolutionarily useful.
