The Paradox of Time
Augustine's Confessions is both philosophical and autobiographical. The theme of creation's separation from and return to God is approached in two ways. Augustine laments at the very end that he is scattered across time rather than eternally present. He asks, what is time, and then adds, as long as nobody asks me, then I know.
