Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection
introgenetics is the study of how genes change over generations. Charles darwin's theory of evolution was based on observations of fossil record, and looking at fossils through the geologic time. Descent with modification is basically natural selection. And a prediction of this theory is that there must be some sort of heritable code, genetic code, which describes how organisms are built and how they come to fruition. The modern theory of evolution has been expanded extended over the intervening centuries since darwins publication.
