Is There a Shift in Opinions Between Preferential and Rational?

We can sometimes look back on things that at the time were mistakes, misfortunes, failures and quite reasonably, think, i don't really regret now. We've got to sort of have this question about there's a shift in opinions between what my preferences are beforehand and what my preferences will be afterwards. And thaa, the challenge is to try to figure out some kind of either to say, no, all those preferences are rational. It's just rational for one's preferences to evolve over time in that way. In fact, the way rational decision making works, sometimes you commit yourself to doing things that you know you'll later regret. But the right decision at the time is
