Three Tools for Emergency Physicians - PESI, SPSI and Hester
There's three really good tools which are available and they all sound like they're going to do the same thing. But actually they're really pragmatic and useful for us at the front door. The PESI gives us a four point outcome. SPSI just gives us a binary yes, no high, low risk. Whereas Hester gives us a set of criteria that we can sort of think about. And even with them scoring is a moderate risk, would it be safe to send them home?
