The Importance of Forgiveness
Forgiveness feels like an undeserved gift and a sacrifice of our rights. We therefore only engage in it for some perceived gain to our ego. It also implicitly condemns and puts beneath us the one we forgive. So there's kind of this, there's a gain to the ego or it wouldn't sacrifice its rights. Right? You deserve my anger. You deserve my retribution. And then you're beneath me because I'm, you attacked and I'm forgiving.
