Psalm 2: Reflection on God and the Promised Messiah

The five books of Psalms deal with two themes: reflection on God and looking forward to the promised Messiah. Each book has a symmetry in that there are songs of personal reflection and lament even anger toward the Psalmist's enemies. The emphasis is heavily on this messianic king who is to come, which isn't just the fulfillment of a promise to David, but it's a fulfillment of the promise to Abraham.
