Using a Changing Magnetic Field in a Magnetic Drum

Wang's new memory was meant to be 100 % stationary. So how can you tell that a core is magnetized without moving it? The trick was to flip the bit another time. You just need a changing magnetic field relative to some detector to read from his makeshift memory. Wang set up a secondary coil around the core, then the primary coil would be driven to attempt to flip the core's magnetization.
