The Autonomy of Art by Nick Cenar
Nick Brown's book Autonomy offers a fresh perspective on aesthetic autonomy and its political value. It illustrates the viability of modernist projects in the era after post-modernism, but offering one illuminating reading after another of the contemporary examples. The first time I read the book was blown by a way by how many examples were found in novels, photography, sculpture, popular music, TV, and movies.
